About this Place
This large duplex boasts 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms in an up-and-coming area of Brooklyn. The owner shares the space with 2 roommates, which is reflected in the eclectic decor that’s found throughout the home.
The spacious living room has light walls, plenty of natural light, and beautiful hardwood floors. An impressive plant collection fills the corner. A large television sits atop a low-profile stand with open storage.
There’s plenty of seating for all the roommates, thanks to the generously sized leather sectional. A pillow collection in red and blue tie in with the curtains and large print over the sectional.
We love the swivel chair and how it’s the perfect spot for both watching television or conversation. Plus, they’re just a whole lot of fun to sit in.
The living area opens into the kitchen. Lots of shelving lines the staircase wall, perfect for a home with multiple roommates. Another plant adds some life to the shelving area.
The kitchen and living area are divided by an industrial bar-height table and stools. Even though the table is small, the setup offers seating for 6.
The stainless finish on the table looks good and is easy to keep clean. The Coca-Cola sign carries the red color over from the living room and adds a vintage touch to the space.
We like how they’ve utilized every part of this wall for storage and organization. There’s even a basket for storing yoga mats.
The kitchen counter area was expanded by adding a table and an additional open shelf. Underneath the table are four bins for trash and recycling, another clever use of space.
Ordinarily, we’d suggest cleaning off the counters a bit to make the kitchen feel larger, but we get that’s not so easy when you’ve got roommates sharing one cooking space. They’ve done a great job with the space that’s available.
