Bright Master Bedroom

About this Place

This is one of the nicest bedrooms we’ve seen. The dark wall color, wide plank wood floors, and unique furnishings make this bedroom one we’d be happy to sleep in.

The deep blue walls make the white mouldings look super crisp. An exposed strip of brick adds vintage charm to the room. We like how he’s layered a rug at an angle under the bed. It makes the space feel less predictable.

A live edge platform bed adds an organic feel to the room. Plain linen bedding doesn’t distract from the bed and exposed brick, which are the more important design elements.

He also has a live edge table with hairpin legs for a nightstand. It’s just large enough for the bedside essentials, like water and a phone charger.

The wall opposite the bed has two large windows that let in tons of light. He’s wisely added some roller blackout shades to the windows. They disappear when not in use, keeping the focus on the view.

A large American flag is displayed on the wall. The light colored wood makes the media credenza stand out against the walls.

If you don’t have the funds for a custom media credenza like this one, you can easily find wall-mounted units at popular furniture stores like IKEA and West Elm.

The minimalist chair doesn’t look comfortable, but it gets tons of points for style! Most bedroom chairs are only used for slipping your shoes on and off, so why not pick something a little outside of the box?

The dog even has linen bedding of his own. There’s no reason to have an unattractive dog bed when there are lots of good looking options available.

The lone piece of art on the wall looks a little lonely. We’d add a few more prints to create a gallery wall that’s similar in scale to the large flag on the opposite wall.

Overall, we’re very impressed with this bedroom. By selecting dark walls and light wood furnishings, he’s made a restful and good-looking bedroom.
